Matteo Bergamini MBE is the Founder and CEO of Shout Out UK, a multi-award-winning social enterprise providing impartial Political and Media Literacy training and campaigns focused on democratic engagement, combatting online disinformation, and counter-extremism—with a emphasis on addressing political disinformation, Far-Right Extremism, Fascination with Extreme Violence (FEV), and extremist misogyny. He is also the co-author of Man Enough: How to Protect Boys from Online Harms, a guide for parents.

He was made an MBE by King Charles III for Services to Charity, Social Enterprise, and Education in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours. Alongside establishing Shout Out UK at age 22, Matteo was appointed to NewsGuard’s Board of News Literacy Advisors in 2023 and served on Meta’s EU Digital Working Group (2022 – 2025). He was selected in 2018 by the US Embassy in London to take part in the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Impact list in 2021.

Matteo has been at the forefront of nationwide initiatives to equip young people and communities against radicalisation and online harms. His work spans large-scale educational programmes, high-impact public awareness campaigns, and direct interventions aimed at dismantling extremist narratives and dangerous online influence. He has taken part in the UN’s Verified anti-disinformation campaign, given evidence before House of Lords Select Committees, and was the driving force behind the Channel 4 Youth Leaders’ Debate in 2015 as well as the APPG on Political & Media Literacy, launched in 2021.

He holds a BA in Politics & History and a Graduate Diploma in Law.
